FOLKO is a Ballarat-based building design studio serving Central and Western Victoria, with a focus on traditional and vernacular residential design.
With over ten years’ experience working in architectural practices in Japan and Australia, Jon Carrucan established FOLKO in 2022 with the aim of offering an alternative both to volume-built housing styles and to the latest architectural fashions.
We pride ourselves on our attention to our clients’ needs, a functional approach to planning, and careful detailing.
Our traditional design approach emphasises understatement and rational, timeless forms, but we also understand how important ornament, colour, and a sense of play are in bringing each unique project to life.
